By downloading or using Candles, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Candles is a birthday reminder and countdown app that helps you track birthdays, receive notifications, and share birthday cards. The App stores all data locally on your device.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional one-time premium upgrade that unlocks additional features. All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.

• Premium is a one-time, non-consumable purchase
• No subscription or recurring charges
• Restore purchases on any device signed into the same Apple ID

User Content

Any data you enter into the App (names, dates, notes) is your content. You retain full ownership. We do not access, collect, or claim any rights to your content.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems
• Redistribute or resell the App

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to missed birthday reminders or lost data.

Data Loss

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, App deletion, or any other cause. We recommend keeping your device backed up.

Modifications & Termination

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms.

Governing Law & Apple Terms

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. These Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, the Apple App Store Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to App Store-related matters.
