Data Collection
Candles does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter into the App — including names, dates of birth, notes, and notification preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData).
Contacts Access
If you choose to import birthdays from your Contacts, the App reads contact names and birthday dates from your device's address book. This data is processed entirely on your device, never sent to any server or third party, and only used to create birthday entries within the App. You can revoke Contacts access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts.
Notifications
The App uses local notifications to remind you of upcoming birthdays. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Analytics & Tracking
Candles does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage data, device information, or behavioral data of any kind.
In-App Purchases & Third-Party Services
The App offers an optional one-time premium purchase through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information. Candles does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs beyond Apple's system frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, StoreKit, WidgetKit, UserNotifications, Contacts).
Data Storage, Security & Children's Privacy
All App data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently removed. Candles does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require an account and stores no data externally.
